A New Home for Christmas

Our first month in Singapore was characterized by daily trips from our transit accommodation, a serviced apartment in Geylang, to the quarantine station in Sembawang. Our two dogs, Allegra and Lizzie, spent 30 days in the facility, which was depressing for them and us. On December 14th, the entire family was reunited in our new home, a renovated shophouse on Niven Road (http://www.singaporeexpats.com/singapore-property-pictures/black-white-house/niven-road-shophouse.htm). The following week was marked by two major events. First, we welcomed Jessie, our live-in maid, into our family. She has been a wonderfully positive addition and a terrific role-model for our children. Second, we received the shipment containing all of our belongings, including all the kids TOYS!!!!

The remainder of the month was spent taking weekend trips to Sentosa and the Singapore Zoo and partying at the American Club (more on that soon). Santa even managed to find us in our new location. In fact, I think we are one of his first stops. Santa even left a few extra gifts for Graham, who celebrated his 3rd birthday on December 28th.
